Before you get into a relationship, invite your future mother-in-law over to your place to watch a movie. Nothing reveals a person’s true character quite like watching a film together. And no matter how hard you try to avoid it, once you’re in a relationship, you’re bound to have to deal with the mother-in-law sooner or later.
I got lucky recently when I did exactly this. I’d been seeing a really lovely woman who was very close to her mother. So I invited the future mother-in-law over and put on a movie.
It hadn’t been five minutes before she started criticising it: “That’s not how it works in real life. Nobody does that. That’s against the laws of physics,” and so on. She kept complaining about something the entire time, and I couldn’t concentrate on the porn at all. Couldn’t get an erection.
So I dumped the pig.
