Is it worth telling the woman in a couple you know that her husband is cheating on her, or should you just keep your bloody mouth shut?
Let me give you an example.
Matt was the sales manager at Maija’s father’s company. He was handsome, charming, a smooth talker, and frequently away from home on business trips. Maija was the heiress to a wealthy family fortune and a lingerie model. From the outside, they seemed to have everything.
One evening, when Matt was away on another business trip, I went to visit Maija. With a tear in the corner of my eye, I stammered out that I’d seen Matt cheating on her in a hotel in a neighbouring town. I explained that it wasn’t the first time, either. He was doing it all the time.
Maija was absolutely devastated. She cried uncontrollably and initially couldn’t believe it had happened. After all, Matt had always been so kind and loving towards her. I felt terribly sorry for her, and I even shed a few tears myself.
Then, when the initial shock began to wear off, the anger kicked in. Maija sent Matt a message telling him it was all over, threw his clothes out into the garden, and called a locksmith to change the locks. Then she phoned her father, who promptly fired Matt.
Over the following month, I visited Maija several times a week to make sure she was coping. I helped her around the house, cooked meals, listened to her problems, and comforted her whenever she needed it.
Gradually, Maija began to recover from that terrible trauma. We grew closer and closer, and one evening, we kissed.
Now, I’ve been banging Maija like a barn door for six months. Last weekend, we got engaged, the wedding is at Christmas, and after that, I won’t have to work anymore. I’ll be able to buy myself whatever I want, because Maija has more money than she knows what to do with.
So, yes, telling her was absolutely worth it!
I do feel a little sorry for Matt, though. What a pathetic wimp. The poor bastard didn’t even have the balls to go out and cheat on his wife.
