Working with teen

When I do rarer household chores, like changing lightbulbs, cleaning dishwasher filters, assembling furniture, etc., I often ask my teenage son to help me. I always say, “You should learn to do these things so you know how to do them when you move out to your own place.” I always get sentimental, thinking that my baby will soon be so big heโ€™ll move out. I feel anxious, almost tears in my eyes.

He looks at me with a weird, amused expression. Iโ€™ve always thought it means that he finds it funny because I get so emotional.

Today I got a horrible idea. What if it really means that he thinks, โ€œYeah, so you think now that Iโ€™ll move out some dayโ€?

Oh hi there ๐Ÿ‘‹
Itโ€™s nice to meet you.
