Working with teen

  • teens

When I do rarer household chores; changing lightbulbs, cleaning dishwasher filters, assembling furniture, etc I often ask my teenage son to help me. I always say, “You should learn to do these things, so you know how to do them when you move out to your own place”. I always get sentimental, thinking that my baby is soon so big, he’ll move out. I feel anxious, almost tears in my eyes.

He looks at me with a weird, amused expression. I’ve always thought it means that he finds it funny because I get so emotional.

Today I got a horrible idea. What if it really means that he thinks “Yeah, so you think now that I’ll move out someday”.
