Shoe shopping with a teenage girl: we visit every shop in an enormous shopping mall. Shoe shops twice, some three times, milkshake bar once, chocolatery once, and all other clothing shops at least once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After two and a half hours, we find a nice summer dress, which\u2014of course\u2014she can\u2019t wear this autumn anymore, but it\u2019s there for next summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Didn\u2019t buy shoes because we didn\u2019t find ones she liked. They were all ugly or otherwise wrong. Half of them were tried on anyway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we got home, she realized she didn\u2019t have anything to wear with a new summer dress. So we decided to go again tomorrow and renew our whole wardrobe to get something that goes with that new summer dress. Not going to buy new shoes; she doesn\u2019t really need them. Unless we find really cool ones with 6-inch heels that go with that summer dress\u2014and if they don\u2019t, we\u2019ll buy a new dress that goes with them. And a blouse and a coat. And\u2014well, you get the point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shopping with a teenage boy:At the first shop, \u201cI\u2019ll take that hoodie, that pullover, and those trousers. Do I have to try them on?\u201d Yes, you have to try them on. To the counter, I\u2019ll pay, and then out. Eight minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
